Fit score per technology — taller is better

What matters to you?

Rate each priority from 1 (don't care) to 5 (critical). The more weight you give a criterion, the more it pulls the recommendation towards technologies that excel at it.

3 / 5

Land / civil space is tight

3 / 5

Water for flushing, landscape, reuse

3 / 5

Lower capex & running cost

3 / 5

How the four technologies score

Total fit score = Σ (your importance × the technology's base rating on each criterion).

Extended Aeration54 pts

The workhorse conventional process — cheapest and simplest to run, but needs more land and delivers only moderate effluent.

#2 MBBR54 pts

Moving-bed biofilm media boost capacity in a compact tank — a balanced all-rounder that upgrades easily.

#3 SBR51 pts

Batch reactor with good effluent and a small footprint, at the cost of automation and PLC-driven operation.

#4 MBR48 pts

Membrane filtration gives the smallest footprint and near-reuse-ready water — premium capex, power and membrane upkeep.

How this is scored

  • Each technology carries a base rating from 1–5 on five criteria — footprint, effluent quality, cost, power and simplicity.
  • Your importance sliders act as weights. The fit score for each option is Σ (importance × base rating), so a criterion you set to 5 counts far more than one set to 1.
  • The option with the highest total is recommended. With everything equal, MBR wins on quality and footprint while Extended Aeration wins on cost and simplicity — your weights decide.

Base ratings are indicative of typical Indian package-plant experience for concept selection. Confirm against site constraints, discharge norms and life-cycle cost with a qualified consultant before finalising.
