Industrial Wastewater Treatment Planner
Tell us your dominant wastewater and daily flow, and this planner points you to the right kind of plant — a domestic STP or an industrial ETP — with a treatment complexity rating and how rough capex scales.
Relative treatment complexity & cost by wastewater type — your selection highlighted
Your effluent
Toxic, variable and often hazardous streams — custom physico-chemical trains and frequently ZLD.
Average daily effluent volume. The plant type is set by the effluent, not the flow — flow sets the scale.
Industrial effluent plant
Average daily effluent
Highest — custom physico-chemical trains + ZLD
How your effluent compares
Relative treatment complexity (and how steeply rough capex scales) across wastewater types — yours is highlighted.
How this works
- Plant type — only Domestic / canteen only sewage goes to an STP. Every industrial stream — chemical, food, textile or plating — is an ETP, which needs custom physico-chemical treatment and often Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) to meet CPCB discharge norms.
- Complexity (5/5) — Toxic, variable and often hazardous streams — custom physico-chemical trains and frequently ZLD.
- Rough capex — An ETP for chemical effluent needs custom physico-chemical treatment and often Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) — expect roughly 5.0× the per-m³ cost of a plain domestic STP.
Indicative guidance for concept planning only. Actual technology and cost depend on a lab characterisation of your effluent (BOD/COD, TDS, metals, pH) and the applicable consent conditions — confirm with a qualified consultant before procurement.
Wastewater type → plant
| Wastewater | Plant | Complexity | Rough capex |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic / canteen only | STP | 1 / 5 | Lowest |
| Food / dairy / beverage | ETP | 3 / 5 | Moderate |
| Textile / dyeing | ETP | 4 / 5 | High |
| Chemical / process effluentSELECTED | ETP | 5 / 5 | Highest |
| Metal / plating | ETP | 5 / 5 | Highest |
