Smart measures trim about ₹959 a month — roughly 16.0% off your bill, or ₹11,506 a year.
That’s about 1,438 kWh and 1,021 kg of CO₂ avoided each year (0.71 kg/kWh India grid factor).
| Measure | Monthly saving | Annual saving |
|---|---|---|
| Smart AC control | ₹414 | ₹4,968 |
| Smart lighting | ₹135 | ₹1,620 |
| Smart plugs / standby cut | ₹117 | ₹1,404 |
| Occupancy & scheduling | ₹293 | ₹3,514 |
| Total | ₹959 | ₹11,506 |
Estimates are indicative. Measures overlap, so total savings are capped at ~40% of the bill. Actual results depend on tariff slab, appliance efficiency, and behaviour.

How the smart home energy savings calculator works
This smart home energy savings calculator estimates how much electricity — and money — you can save each month by adopting smart measures in an Indian home. Enter your monthly bill and tariff (₹/unit), tell us how many hours a day you run the AC, then toggle the measures you plan to adopt: smart AC control, smart lighting, smart plugs to kill standby draw, and occupancy-based scheduling.
The tool splits your bill into cooling, lighting, and standby portions — cooling grows as a share the more AC you run — and applies realistic savings rates to each: ~10–20% of cooling from smart AC control, ~15% of lighting from smart lighting, ~5% from smart plugs, and ~8% from occupancy scheduling. Because measures overlap, total savings are honestly capped at about 40% of the bill.
Savings, CO₂, and payback
You get estimated monthly and annual savings, the percentage reduction in your bill, the units (kWh) and CO₂ avoided using the 0.71 kg/kWh India grid emission factor, and a simple payback on the smart devices you buy. Smart lighting and standby control pay back fastest; smart AC control delivers the largest rupee savings in cooling-heavy homes. Treat the figures as a planning guide, not a guarantee.
