Watts to Amps Calculator
Convert watts to amps (or amps to watts) at any voltage. Knowing the current an appliance draws is what tells you the circuit, cable size and MCB it needs. India’s mains is 230 V.

A 2300 W geyser on 230 V draws ~10 A; a 1.5 t AC (~1800 W) draws ~8 A running but surges higher on start-up — always size with margin.
A conversion aid, not a design. Real current varies with the actual voltage and power factor, and motor loads draw a much higher surge on start-up. Use this to understand and estimate — circuit, cable and MCB sizing is a licensed electrician’s job to IS 732.
