This is an indicative planning estimate, not a compliant fire design or a statutory calculation. The real requirement depends on the occupancy classification, the building height and the AHJ — a licensed fire consultant must size the exits to NBC (SP 7:2026) Part 4 and the local fire officer / AHJ signs off. Exits must be remote from each other, so a single fire or blocked lobby cannot cut off both; doors on high-occupancy rooms must swing in the direction of escape; keep every exit unlocked and the egress path unobstructed. Under-sized or blocked exits kill in a crowd crush — verify everything.
