Exits must be remote from each other, so a single fire or blocked lobby cannot cut off both; doors on high-occupancy rooms must swing in the direction of escape; keep every exit unlocked and the egress path unobstructed. Under-sized or blocked exits kill in a crowd crush — verify everything.
