Architecture Thesis

The thesis is the summit of the degree — the one project that is entirely YOURS, where everything you have learned in five years comes together into a single, independent, research-driven design. It is not just a big building project: it is an ARGUMENT, made in research and resolved in design, on an issue you choose and care about. This guide is the methodology that turns a daunting, year-long undertaking into a clear, navigable journey. Learn how to choose a topic and area you can sustain for a year and actually RESOURCE (the right topic balances passion, feasibility and significance); how to frame the ISSUE, aim, HYPOTHESIS and objectives that give the thesis a spine, so every later decision has something to answer to; how to TEST a topic's viability before you commit; and how to define the PROGRAMME and design brief — the spaces, areas and users — that bridge research to design.
