Light the perimeter well, not just brightly
Aim for even coverage with no dark pockets between fittings — a patch of dark is where someone hides, so overlap the beams rather than lighting isolated spots. Avoid glare and light trespass spilling onto neighbours or the road: it is a nuisance and it blinds your own cameras. Weigh warm vs cool colour, add dusk-to-dawn or motion control to cut running cost, and consider solar-plus-battery fittings where running a cable is hard. Then verify the real levels with a lux meter on a night walk.
