Access Control System Designer

Pick your building type, how many doors to control and your credential — get a per-door BOM, a recommended topology and an indicative ₹ range incl 18% GST. Indicative India 2026; confirm with a security integrator.

Your building

Main door + a gate; convenience-led, few doors. Phone-as-credential; no card logistics. Of 2 doors, ~1 treated as escape/egress (fail-safe maglock) and 1 as secure non-egress (fail-secure strike). Indicative India 2026 — varies by brand, city and integrator.

Topology — Standalone. Each door programmed locally. Cheapest; no central logs. Fine for 1–2 doors.

Per-door component BOM

One door's recommended bill of materials. Multiply by 2; software, video and visitor management are site-wide. Lock failure mode depends on whether the door is an escape route.

Each controlled door uses one lock — fail-safe for escape routes, fail-secure for secure rooms — not both. The two rows above show each option's rate. GST 18% extra where applicable.

Must-do safety notes

  • Free egress (NBC): any access-controlled door on an escape route must allow people to leave without a key, card or power — use fail-safe locks (maglock) with a request-to-exit device and mechanical override.
  • Fire-alarm release: escape-route maglocks must drop (unlock) automatically on a fire-alarm signal and on mains failure. Wire the access panel to the fire system.
  • Power-cut reality: size battery backup for India's outages; fail-secure rooms (server, store) stay locked on power loss — confirm that is acceptable for occupants inside.
  • Get it commissioned: this is a planning aid, not a substitute for a licensed security integrator / electrician and a fire-safety sign-off.

Design the right access system

DesignAI matches credential, topology and door roles to your building, your security needs and your budget — and flags the fire-release and free-egress musts.

Assumptions. Indicative India 2026 component rates: controller ~₹7,000/door, readers ₹4,500–₹22,000, maglock ₹3,200, electric strike ₹3,800, exit button ₹900, sensor ₹2,200, power+backup ₹4,500, install ₹5,500/door. Topology is suggested from door count and building type. The total carries a ±18% range; GST is 18% where shown. These are estimates to scope a project — get a quote from a security integrator / licensed electrician, and isolate power before any work.
