Mount the sensor with a clear line-of-sight to the glass (not blocked by curtains or furniture); soft furnishings and double-glazing shorten the range. Combine glass-break with door and window contacts for confirmed alarms, and check each unit with a clap-tester on install. Glass-break suits rooms with lots of glazing where a contact on every pane is impractical.
