Those must be carried out by a licensed fire officer / competent person under the National Building Code (NBC, SP 7:2026) / NBC Part 4 and your local fire rules, and the local fire officer / AHJ signs off. The right scope of checks depends on your building’s occupancy classification, height and the AHJ — verify everything against the applicable code and your fire consultant. Keep dated, signed inspection records. Fix or escalate any fail immediately — never sign off a life-safety fault. A wrong call here can cost lives.
