Furniture Maintenance Scheduler
Tick the materials you own and get a care plan tuned to Indian conditions — grouped by how often to do each job, from a weekly dusting to the pre-monsoon check that saves furniture every year.
Universal tasks (dusting, tightening, the monsoon check) are always included.
Weekly
3 tasks- Dust all surfaces with a dry, soft cloth; wipe spills immediately
- Dust wood with a dry microfibre cloth; never leave water sitting on it
- Vacuum fabric with the upholstery brush; rotate and flip the cushions
Monthly
3 tasks- Check for wobbles and loose screws or hinges, and tighten them
- Plump cushions and spot-treat any stains (check the W/S/WS/X code first)
- Wipe metal and check for early rust spots, especially at joints and feet
Quarterly
2 tasks- Apply wax, polish or oil suited to the finish, and buff
- Refresh fabric protector if used; consider a deeper clean
Pre-monsoon
3 tasks- Pull furniture a few cm off the walls for airflow; check for damp and musty smells
- Put silica gel or camphor in closed wardrobes and cabinets; keep them ventilated
- Air and sun the cushions to prevent a musty smell and mildew
Annual
3 tasks- Deep clean, and inspect every piece for pests, rust, cracks and worn finishes
- Inspect joints and finish; touch up scratches and re-coat if dull
- Touch up powder-coat chips and any rust before it spreads
