Low-VOC Door Checker

Low-VOC Door Checker

Pick the board type, the formaldehyde grade, the finish and the adhesive — and get a 0–100 indoor-air-quality score plus the biggest thing to swap. Indicative India 2026; emission grades need a third-party test certificate to be real.

Your door spec

Less resin than MDF; bonding ≠ emission — ask for E1/E0. Mainstream low-emission grade; ask for the test report. Indicative India 2026 — a higher score means lower formaldehyde and VOC load, not a guarantee. Insist on a third-party emission test certificate (E0/NAF/CARB2, GREENGUARD or ECOMARK).

DesignAI helps you choose low-emission boards, water-based finishes and formaldehyde-free adhesives — and lists the certificates to demand from your supplier.

How to read this score

The score weights four factors — board/core (30), formaldehyde emission grade (30), surface finish (22) and bonding adhesive (18) — to a 0–100 indoor-air-quality estimate where higher means lower formaldehyde and VOC load. It is indicative only and not a measured air-quality reading.

Emission grades (E2/E1/E0/NAF, CARB2) are self-declared unless backed by a third-party test certificate. IS 710 / IS 303 bonding tells you about water resistance, not formaldehyde — ask separately for an emission report (ISO 12460 / EN 717), GREENGUARD, ECOMARK (BIS) or GreenPro documentation. Treat this checker as a starting point, not a substitute for a certified product or a green-building / IAQ consultant. Any low-VOC door premium attracts 18% GST over the base price.
