Door Fitting Cost Estimator

Door Fitting Cost Estimator

Estimate the fitting labour to install a door — by door type, quantity, whether the frame is being fixed, and your city tier — with the all-in labour total including 18% GST. This is labour only (the door, frame and hardware are priced separately in the cost guides).

Your fitting job

Light hollow/flush leaf, 3 hinges, latch & stopper — quickest to hang. Baseline labour rates. Labour-only — the door leaf, frame and hardware are priced separately. Indicative India 2026; varies by city, fitter and site access.

DesignAI compares your fitter's labour rate to local norms, flags what should be in the scope, and reminds you what to inspect before you pay.

Assumptions & notes

  • Labour only. This estimates the fitter's charge to hang the leaf, fit the lock and check the swing — it excludes the door leaf, frame and hardware. Use the door cost guides for material prices.
  • Bands: internal flush ₹400–900, main/heavy ₹900–2,000, sliding track ₹1,500–4,000 per door; frame fixing ₹500–1,500 per door. Carpenter day-rates run ₹800–1,800.
  • City tier applies a labour multiplier (metro ×1.25, large city ×1.0, town ×0.8). All money figures shown include 18% GST when the toggle is on.
  • A plumb, square frame is non-negotiable — a fitted door is only as good as its frame. In India insist on DPC / anti-termite treatment at the frame base.
  • Figures are indicative — confirm with your carpenter/fitter on site; measure twice. This is a guidance tool, not a substitute for a skilled carpenter or site engineer.
