The diagonal check
Measuring corner-to-corner across a room to test whether it is a true rectangle. If the diagonal doesn't match what the wall lengths predict, the room is out of square — which matters the moment furniture has to fit a corner.
Is the room truly square?
Few Indian rooms are perfectly square. A 50mm error compounded across a fitted wardrobe run becomes a visible, costly gap. The diagonal catches it before the carpenter does.
