Roshandan
The traditional Indian ventilator — a small high opening above a door or window that lets hot air escape at ceiling level. A piece of vernacular climate intelligence that powers the stack effect, and an easy Extend move to bring into a modern flat.
The high-level self-vent
Pair a roshandan (high outlet) with a low inlet and a room breathes on its own. Alongside the jaali screen and the courtyard, it's how Indian architecture cooled homes long before air-conditioning.
