Cross-ventilation

Air flowing in through one opening and out through another on a different wall, carrying heat and humidity out with it. It extends comfort without machinery — critical in a compact Indian home through summer and monsoon.

The no-AC strategy

Two openings on opposite or adjacent walls let a small room breathe without AC. A sealed single-aspect flat traps monsoon damp and summer heat — the enemy of small-space comfort.
