What it's made of
  • four carved teak pillars
  • open dome mandapa
  • raised stone-look base
  • brass bell garland

Inspired by an open temple mandapa, this freestanding shrine has four carved teak pillars carrying a dome with no enclosing walls, so the deity is visible and approachable from every side. The raised stone-look base lifts the idol and a brass bell garland rings the dome for festival days. It suits villas and bungalows with an open prayer area where the temple can be seen across the room. Stand it in the north-east with the deity facing east, keep clear space around it for circumambulation, and ensure good airflow since the open form lets incense disperse naturally. You can switch finishes to compare looks before deciding.
