What it's made of
- hinged folding doors
- compact teak veneer box
- magnetic clasp
- felt-lined idol tray
For renters, students and frequent movers, this small hinged box opens into a complete little shrine and folds shut with a magnetic clasp to protect the idols in transit. A felt-lined tray cradles the murtis and the teak-veneer doors carry light carving so it still feels devotional. It suits PG rooms, hostels and rental flats where a fixed mandir is not possible. Stand it on a clean shelf in the north-east of the room with the idol facing east, use a small metal plate for the diya, and open the doors during prayer so incense and lamp smoke can clear in the compact space. You can switch finishes to compare looks before deciding.
