Vastu Purusha Mandala
vāstu puruṣa maṇḍala
/ˈvɑːstu ˈpʊruʃə ˈmʌnɖələ/
The square grid (often 8×8 or 9×9) that maps a deity—the Vastu Purusha—onto a plot, assigning each cell a direction and quality. The discipline of designing to a module is good practice and echoes modern structural-bay logic — but the specific cell meanings are convention, not physics.
