Noise reduction coefficient

NRC, a 0 to ~1.0 rating of how much sound a material absorbs. Glass and tile sit near 0 (reflective); a thick acoustic panel approaches 1.0. A bare tiled room is near 0.05; rugs and curtains raise it fast.
