A wood-slat batten wall lines up warm vertical strips with shadow gaps between, a hugely popular look for Indian living rooms that want texture without heaviness. The teak-toned battens can be back-lit so light leaks through the gaps for a floating glow behind the TV or sofa. It suits 2BHK and 3BHK halls where a full veneer wall feels too solid and a slatted rhythm feels lighter. Mount slats on a rail with even gaps, run a warm LED strip behind for the back-lit effect, and vacuum the gaps with a brush head since dust settles between battens. You can switch finishes to compare looks before deciding.
