A parallel or galley kitchen sets two counters facing each other across a central walkway, doubling worktop and storage. It works well in narrow, long Indian kitchens and busy households that need lots of prep space. Keep at least 1.1 metres between the runs so two people can pass, and split wet and dry zones across the two sides. You can switch finishes to compare charcoal against oak, sage, walnut and white.
